Cypress Tree, Rice Creek, Florida. 2020.

Midday light spreads across one of the largest and oldest known cypress trees in Florida. This tree anchors and elevates the surrounding Rice Creek swamp and floodplains. The elder cypress has been a sundial to the swamp’s history; a one-time plantation, the land is now a conservation area with the Florida Trail threading north and south.
Captured on Ilford FP4 125 4×5 sheet film with a Caltar II-N 210mm lens and scanned with an Epson Perfection v850 Pro. Shot at Rice Creek Conservation Area in Putnam County, Florida on May 10, 2020.
